Workers’ Memorial Day (April 28th) is a powerful reminder to people in positions of influence and power about their vital role in fostering safe and healthy workplaces, says the Business Leaders’ Health and Safety Forum.
More than 287 work-related deaths have been reported to WorkSafe since 2010. “But the actual death toll is much higher because that figure doesn’t include deaths from work-related road crashes, occupational illnesses or maritime or aviation deaths,” says Forum Acting Executive Director Frances Martin.

This day is to remember all those who died in their workplaces . It is manifested around the world and this year is Avesta with for the first time .
Stay Brihler , chairman of the trade unions in Avesta , says that as many as 53 people never came home from his job in 2014.

Various trade unions will participate in the rally in City Hall Park at the bison . Among other things, IF Metall and Building in place.

Please join us for a candlelight memorial service to remember these workers and to reaffirm our resolve to work for safe and healthy workplaces.
