BWI affiliate KUPRIPUPA visited the Platinum Company Limited. Workers were educated on wood dust at the company and how OHS protocols could be improved to make work places safer and healthier.
Another affiliate, KQMWU, visited the Kenya Builders Kayole Mining. Workers were educated on silica and the dangers thereof as well as the available mechanisms that could be used to avoid and mitigate the effects of silica in the workplace.

Kenya: Quarry and Mine workers’ union (KQMWU) held the #IWMD22 campaign at Mombasa cement with emphasis on OHS. The commemoration was also done by planting trees at the company to remember workers who have died in the course of work.
BWI Kenya affiliates (KUPRIPUPA, KQMWU, UNRISK and KBCTFIEU) organized a workplace campaign at Inter label printing industry in Nairobi on 25th April to sensitize the workers on health and safety and strengthen the OHS committee.
Construction unions KUPRIPUPA, UNRISK, KBCTFIEA and KQMWU, affiliates of global union federation Building and Wood Workers International (BWI), are conducting a workplace safety campaign around the Interlabel industry. Three workplace safety committees will also be formed.
