It is a very emotional moment to note our sisters and brothers in the transport sector who have lost their lives in the CORONA Pandemic. Our hearts goes in respect, remembrance and honour to those working men and women who are not in our midst in these challenging times. Our heartfelt condolences to their family members and their loved ones.
We also appreciate the ITF which has come out with collating the details of all those brave who lost their lives. A loss is a loss which is irreparable, but the collective documentation gives it a purpose and solidarity even in death. It also give comfort to the family members that they are not alone in their grief.
They have the prayers, support and solidarity of the entire trade union movement and particularly the transport workers of the world. We stand with them in remembering the departed. We also take this opportunity to reflect on the good work done by our sisters and brothers who are no longer with us, the values they stood for, their commitment to their profession and their efforts to enhance their quality of life including their families and the society at large. Their courage they displayed in standing against all forms of oppression and injustice to give a voice and power to the labour movement. MAY THEIR SOULS RESTS IN PEACE.
