As part of BWI’s campaign to persuade the International Labour Organisation (ILO) to recognise occupational health and safety as a fundamental right, the Azerbaijan Building and Construction Workers Union (Ishaat-IS) has signed joint declarations with two different construction companies in Azerbaijan on the importance of safe and healthy workplaces.
A week before this year’s International Workers’ Memorial Day on 28 April, more than 70 declarations have already been signed both by trade unions and employers worldwide.
