ITUC – Unions are organising for safer, healthier, decent work
Worldwide, poor working conditions kill a worker every 11 seconds. All these deaths are avoidable, yet the body count is increasing, warns Sharan Burrow. The ITUC General Secretary says that is why global unions are launching a reinvigorated and urgent organising campaign to demand safety, justice and accountability.

Global construction union BWI is asking affiliates to start planning for International Workers Memorial Day.
BWI has produced a guide: Unions Make Work Safer – Reclaim Our Rights On Site! and also suggested ideas for organising a 28 April event of your own.

IndustriALL Global Union has written a letter of solidarity to the President of Iran urging the government to improve safety in Iranian mines after at least 35 miners were killed and scores injured in a coal mine explosion on 3 May. more
