{"id":7526,"date":"2025-04-28T16:40:58","date_gmt":"2025-04-28T15:40:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/28april.org\/?p=7526"},"modified":"2025-04-28T16:41:19","modified_gmt":"2025-04-28T15:41:19","slug":"global-heat-kills-iuf-warns-on-international-workers-memorial-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/28april.org\/?p=7526","title":{"rendered":"Global: Heat kills, IUF warns on International Workers\u2019 Memorial Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\"https:\/\/www.iuf.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/IUF-heat-kills-ENGLISH-online_Page_1-1024x724.jpg\" alt=\"description here\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The International Labour Organization estimates that every year, 2.93 million workers die as a result of work-related factors with millions more suffering non-fatal work injuries. \u00a0On April 28, International Workers\u2019 Memorial Day (IWMD), we mourn those workers and commit to fighting for the living.<\/p>\n<p>As our climate warms, workers face an increased risk of exposure to excessive heat, which can be fatal. In all IUF sectors \u2014 in fields, in kitchens, in factories, in hospitality and tourism \u2014 workers risk being exposed to excessive heat.
