Workers\u00a0Memorial\u00a0Day<\/a>, April 28, is just around the corner. This year,\u00a0the labor movement will commemorate those we have lost on the job and will organize to make the fundamental right of a safe job a reality for all workers.\u00a0This year’s theme is\u00a0“Organize! Safe Jobs Now.”<\/strong> Attached are AFL-CIO President Shuler’s letter<\/a>, launching Workers Memorial Day planning this year and English<\/a> and Spanish <\/a>versions of this year’s flier.<\/p>\n Please join us this April 28 to honor the victims of workplace injury and illness and the call\u00a0to organize for safe jobs for all\u00a0workers.\u00a0As we do every year, trade unionists around the country and globe will organize our communities and workplaces to observe\u00a0Workers\u00a0Memorial\u00a0Day.<\/p>\n We will highlight the toll of job injuries and deaths; demand that elected officials put\u00a0workers\u2019 well-being above corporate interests; and demand safe jobs for all.\u00a0This year, and every year, the labor movement will defend the right of every\u00a0worker to a safe job and build collective power to\u00a0make that\u00a0right a reality.<\/p>\n Please use the resources below when planning for this year’s\u00a0Workers\u00a0Memorial\u00a0Day\u00a0and reach out to us with any questions, concerns, comments along the way.<\/p>\n Materials\u00a0and Artwork<\/u><\/strong>:<\/p>\n Please scroll down our Workers Memorial Day home page to view and download this year’s materials and artwork:\u00a0aflcio.org\/workersmemorialday<\/a>.
