{"id":1719,"date":"2017-05-12T16:15:44","date_gmt":"2017-05-12T15:15:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/28april.org\/?p=1719"},"modified":"2017-05-12T16:15:44","modified_gmt":"2017-05-12T15:15:44","slug":"malta-28-april-marked-with-a-union-conference-on-workplace-carcinogens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/28april.org\/?p=1719","title":{"rendered":"Malta: 28 April marked with a union conference on workplace carcinogens"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"introduction-right\" style=\"margin-bottom: 12.0pt;\">On 28 April 2017, Malta\u2019s main trade union, the General Workers Union (GWU), held the conference \u201cTogether to Eliminate Carcinogens from the place of work\u201d in collaboration with the ETUI.<\/p>\n<p>The topic, the date and the venue were not selected by chance, with 28 April being the World Day on Safety and Health at Work and with occupational cancers the No. 1 cause of work-related deaths in Europe. Malta currently holds the presidency of the European Union (EU).
