This time, and always under the broad umbrella of \u201cunions make work safer\u201d, we are inviting trade unions to consider addressing all actions needed to protect the health and safety of the most vulnerable in our workplaces, due among others, to gender, origins, class and\/or sexual orientation. We\u2019d be very pleased to get any background documents\/research on these issues you might have developed in your union to help elaborating the international background document for the day.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some suggested taglines:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Inequality is a pain in the workplace<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Safe work for women, safe work for all<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> Workplace safety is a class issue<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Occupational disease is a class issue<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Profit and loss: When irresponsible firms put production first, workers can pay a deadly price<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Racism hurts at work<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Fair enough? We are all sickened by inequality at work<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Inequality at work makes us sick<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>United we stand: Divided we cough, ache, limp, itch, wheeze and die<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We have already received confirmation from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tuc.org.uk\/wmd2017\">TUC UK <\/a>\u00a0on their willingness to take on this issue calling to \u201cprotect those hidden from safety\u201d and focus on the hidden and new GIG economies, the risks faced by migrant workers and the issue of gender.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-1142 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/28april.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/afl-en-204x300.jpg\" width=\"204\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/28april.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/afl-en-204x300.jpg 204w, https:\/\/28april.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/afl-en.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 204px) 100vw, 204px\" \/>The AFL-CIO in the US has already released a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aflcio.org\/content\/download\/175834\/4173621\/13x19-rf.pdf\">poster <\/a>that refers to our common theme as well:<\/p>\n<p>Social media: you can start using <a href=\"https:\/\/ctt.ec\/3FlIS\">#iwmd17<br \/>\n<\/a> in Twitter and posting news in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/170025585213\/\">Facebook Group<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Please ensure you send me details of your planned activities, any resources and artwork you produce for 28 April 2017.
