Pittsburgh, PA the United Steelworkers have a memorial service for the 33 USW members who died in the last year.
At noon the AFL-CIO area Labor Council has an event in Market Square with all the Unions remembering all workers who died in the last year, this is the fourteenth years of this ceremony.
UMdL participates at World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2016, supported also by International Labour Organization (ILO) and sustained also by the International Social Security Association (ISSA).
April 28th is also known as International Workers’ Memorial Day. In all the World this is an opportunity to promote the prevention of diseases and injuries at work and promote the memory of all deaths at work. It is possible to find events and activities often promoted by trade unions in many countries, by the website 28april.org.
